What We Do

Beautifying the Fox Valley

We believe that everyone should take time to stop and smell the flowers. To encourage that we have been planting marigolds all long South Oneida street in Appleton for over 30 years. As we continue to grow we are also expanding our planting locations beyond the South Oneida and with your help beyond Appleton.

Creating Volunteers

We believe helping to improve your surroundings is a great way to get invested in your community. We offer volunteer opportunities to those looking to get involved and help strengthen our community here in the Fox Valley.

Our Planting Schedule

We provide training and materials for those new to planting

April / Early May: 3 weeks before planting when the trenches are green with weeds, we spray for weeds. After one week, we cultivate the soil.  If necessary, clay is replaced with soil and compost before cultivating.
Late May / June :  We begin planting 2 alternating rows of yellow and orange Inca Marigolds.
Mid June: Complete planting and start feeding the flowers with liquid fertilizer.

Watering is needed at least once a week throughout the growing season, whether we perform the task or Mother Nature takes care of  it.

Mid July: Some replanting is performed and weeding begins.
August : Some liquid fertilizer is added if needed for blooming.  again in August, deadheading and weeding continue.
September Through October: after weeding is finished, time to take pictures.
November: The flowers are removed before the ground freezes.
